WHAT IS EPOXY-ROD ALUMINIUM?
Epoxy-Rod Aluminium is a hand kneadable,
specialised Epoxy Putty that mixes in one minute to provide fast, permanent repairs to most Aluminium surfaces.
Within the packaging Epoxy-Rod Aluminium has a silver look, when mixed Epoxy-Rod Aluminium changes it's colour to Alloy upon cure. The repair will not yellow upon exposure to UV light.

Looking like a stick of rock from Brighton, Epoxy Rod Aluminium has been design to ensure that the mix of Resin and Hardener is correct every time.
The outside resin layer is separated from the inner hardener by a waxen barrier.
Tear, cut or pull an amount from the rod will ensure the correct % of each, base and hardener ensuring correct amount of each to effect a cure.
Just mix until you have a uniform colour and apply to the repair.
Whilst soft, the putty can be shaped and used as required. The consistency (like modeling clay} eliminates drips and runs, facilitates adhesion to the Aluminium and allows the material to be
formed and sculpted as needed before curing begins.
After final cure the application can be drilled, tapped, sawed, sanded. filed, painted. and stained.
Suitable for interior or exterior use, it is resistant to chemicals, water, and temperature extremes. Epoxy-Rod Aluminium contains no solvents or VOCs.
It's non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes.
Epoxy-Rod Aluminium cures onto surfaces in 5 minutes. Within 5-10 minutes, it will harden and form a cohesive bond. After which, Epoxy-Rod Aluminium can be molded, sanded, drilled, filed to give the perfect finish.
The unused portion stays fresh for future use when saved in its original package.
When cured, Epoxy-Rod Aluminium has an alloy colour in appearance and texture similar to it. Stain if required.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE:
The completed repair will have chemical resistance to: Hydrocarbons, Ketones, esters, halo-carbons, alcohols, aqueous salt solutions, dilute acids and bases.
FULL CURE:
Initial cure at 60 minutes of application.
After 24 hours full cure is achieved.

USEFUL TIP
What could you be doing to save yourself time during the repair.
Mixing:
Twist or cut off required amount. To mix,knead with fingers to a uniform colour.
Epoxy-Rod Substrate is easier to mix at ambient temperatures on a summers day. To make things easier if mixing is difficult, warm Epoxy-Rod Substrate to room temperature or slightly above.
Application:
Apply to the surface to be repaired (within 2 minutes of mixing).
The mixed epoxy does not exhibit high bond strength at this point,but appears to be merely lying on the surface. Force into any cracks or holes to be filled and strike off excess material, preferably with a tool wetted with clean water.
Work the material forcefully into the surface and apply pressure until adhesion begins to take effect.
Appearance:
For a smooth appearance of the cured compound, hand rub with water or a damp cloth prior to hardening.
Remove excess material before
hardening begins.
Cure:
After 15-20 minutes the epoxy will harden like metal and start to form a tenacious bond. This is the time best used to form the shape of the repair. If you can get this right, you will save time.
After just 45 minutes Epoxy-Rod is completely cured and can be drilled, sawed, carved, sanded, stained or painted.

APPLICATIONS
Epoxy-Rod Aluminium may be used to permanently patch dents, scratches, cuts, gouges and holes in items such as housings and all types of repairs to moldings and injection type shapes.
Epoxy-Rod Aluminium, is ideal for making emergency regents to reforming, rebuilding and patching anything mad of Aluminium. Such as HVAC parts refrigeration units, air conditioning units, machine parts, alu-roofing
and siding, flag poles, shelving, platforms, walkways, campers, road vehicles, canopies, gutter, truck and trailer bodies, wheels, manifolds, stripped threads, marine hardware and casings as well as anything else of Aluminium which doesn't exceed it's tolerances.
ANOTHER USEFUL TIP
In order to achieve optimum adhesion the surface should be cleaned free of grease or dirt.
Scuffing or sanding the surface prior to cleaning helps to ensure a good bond.
