Why is it called Johnny 7?
To men of a certain age the name Johnny 7 will conjure a memory.
Usually of a youth from the richer parts of town running around with his Johnny 7 one man army gun (see picture) owning it all. Whilst the rest of us had a bit of wood with a nail hammered in as a trigger. In those days, sweets were rationed.
The name reflects the beauty of Johnny 7. It does everything for hard surfaces. The most all round chemical liquid you can have in your locker.

USEFUL TIP
To increase the power of a chemical all we need to do is increase the temperature of the liquid in this case.
With a chemical that is dissoluble in water all we need to do is increase the temperature of the water we are putting it in.
A simple example of this is when we wash our hands or the plates after tea. We use soap and water.
Use this simple calculation to understand how much more powerful your cleaner has become.
Every time you increase the temperature by 10°C you double the cleaning power of the solution.
Therefore if you usually use water to clean at 10°C and you increase the water temperature to 40°C it will increase the power of the solution by doubling 3 times.
1 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 times the cleaning power than the original solution.
It would be sensible to change the water solution often to keep it clean and hot.
